The research group on society-state relationships – Resocie – brings together professors and students from various fields to analyze the interactions of actors in state and society in the construction of institutions, the design and implementation of public policies, and the making of political claims. Our research explores the dynamics of social movements, participatory institutions, deliberative systems, bureaucracies, public policies, and digital arenas.

Resocie is organized around three research areas, each of which is coordinated by a professor of the Institute of Political Science of the University of Brasilia (UnB). Researchers and professors from other areas and institutions, as well as graduate and undergraduate students participate as well. All three areas seek to contribute to the development of democratic theories, in dialogue with theories of social movements and of political representation
